Every once in a while, on the rare occasion when I listen to terrestrial radio I still hear lame commercials from the insurance lobby about insurance fraud. Obviously an attempt at corporate propaganda, insurance companies want you to believe that they need to continue to raise premiums because so many people are defrauding the system. The reality is they are raking in billions while the real fraud is being committed at the corporate and government levels. Another example of the real fraud in the insurance industry was on display when a former Insurance Commissioner was sentenced to 7 years federal prison for scamming that state out of more than $2 million dollars intended to go to high risk insurance customers. While this didn't happen in Florida it is still connected to the players involved in the insurance industry and how it operates. Lets not forget that Florida's former governor and current United States Senator Rick Scott oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in US History and then used that money to buy the Governor's seat and a US Senate seat. But, State Farm wants you to be mad at the make believe person that is trying to set up a $5,000 scam.
